Melissa Bussey

Assistant Pre-K Teacher

Melissa Bussey is an Assistant Teacher in the Pre-K classroom and was one of the first teachers to join the preschool in 2017. She spent a year as the assistant in the Two’s classroom before moving into the Pre-K classroom where she participated in a training program to become state and NAEYC accredited. She has more than 19 years of experience in early childhood teaching. She graduated from Albany Technical College with her diploma and certificate in early childhood education, as well as a specialist certificate in special education. Melissa is CPR and first aid certified and has completed multiple trainings through the National Association for the Education of Young Children and Georgia Bright from the Start. She is particularly skilled at storytelling and providing creative, messy play opportunities for children. She was born and raised in Georgia, has two children, and enjoys shopping and traveling.
